PRP

What is PRP? First of all, PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It is a safe treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood, rich in specifically platelets (thrombocytes) and growth factors. These cells and growth factors induce healing and tissue regeneration naturally. In aesthetic medicine, PRP is used most of the time to rejuvenate the skin, stimulate hair growth, and improve texture, tone, and elasticity of our skins.

The procedure starts drawing a small amount of the patient’s own blood by the medical providers, processing it in a specialized instrument to isolate the platelets by using centrifugal force following by injecting it into the interest area.

Before PRP

Patients may experience skin tone and laxity issues, persistent acne scars or enlarged pores as well as weak thin hair or early hair loss.

After PRP

Typical results include more radiant and smooth skin as well as improved skin tone and texture. Besides improving the skin quality, thicker and healthier-looking hair is appreciated when used on the scalp.

Results can be seen gradually over several weeks due to collagen production increasing and tissue renewal. Multiple sessions may be considered for optimal improvement.

Noticable improvements usually begin to appear within 2 to 4 weeks after the first session, with continued enhancement over several months as collagen production increases.

Is there any downtime after PRP?

Downtime is relatively minimal. The patient may experience mild redness, swelling or sensitivity but generally resolves within a day or two without any extra treatment.

Can PRP be combined with other treatments?

Yes, PRP is frequently paired with microneedling, laser therapy or dermal filler treatments to enhance results and achieve anti-aging more properly.
